So, why did I rebrand?
Okay, so picture this: You're going through a big transition in your life, and everything just seems to be falling into place divinely. That's exactly how I felt when I decided to rebrand my business. It wasn't planned at all, but I knew it was the right move for me. I mean, who doesn't love a fresh start, am I right?
I made some big bold moves in my business last year. I completely flipped my business and incorporated Human Design into my services.
Since then my business has totally evolved. And as the person behind my business I have also evolved. I feel that I am going through some kind of transition and my gut was telling me I had to make the change. It all just fell into place really and that’s how I know it’s really the right move.
If things are easy and flow then it’s totally mean’t to be, if its hard and a struggle then it’s most likely not the right move.
So this is exactly how it came about: ( and I want to preface this with saying, THIS is what fast action looks like, THIS is what fully understanding your intuition and following your Human Design looks like.
I had some new branding photos done last Thursday with my awesome photographer friend Prue Peters (prue has been on the podcast before). We work really well together and we both just get each other and what we are doing. We’ve worked on lots of photo shoots together over the years, from back in the day at my old corporate job. Anyway Prue is a Man Gen and a super fast mover and a couple of hours after the shoot she had some sneak peeks through to me.
As soon as I saw those images I knew. I needed to take the entire visuals to a new level. It had been on the back of my mind or a while but it was instantly confirmed. She blew me away and captured exactly what I wanted and I decided to go all in. That was Thursday night, by Monday morning I was relaunching my new brand!
So, originally, I just wanted to get some new branding photos that would make me look more sleek and modern and I had also realised that my old images didn't align with my Human Design. And as a mentor in that field, I just couldn't have that! So, I feel like I needed to change things up and inject some confidence into my photos.
My Sun gate is all about unity, connecting with people and most of my brand photos I was not looking at the camera. I was not connecting on the screen when someone landed on my website. Even though my last photo shoot was awesome and I love the images I needed to have some confidence behind me and make connections through my images. So that’s why I booked the shoot in - I actually booked it in about 3 months prior, not realising it was the perfect time.
I've also been working with a coach who's been pushing me to step up and embrace my leadership skills. So rebranding is also a way I can step into that leadership and authority. Not that I needed permission to actually do it, but I feel like it’s given me the confidence to go a step further than I would have.
Something else I had been thinking at the back of my mind, I had the same logo for six years or more – it was starting to feel a little stale. And as brand designer, I know how important it is to keep things fresh and current. You would not wear the same outfit for six years would you? Probably not! And just like how our personal style evolves, our brand personality can too.
I had done little refreshes of my brand fonts and colours over the years but not the actual main logo - maybe I put it off because don’t ing things for yourself is hard.
Or maybe the reason is this: There is a saying that goes "The cobbler's children have no shoes." It means that professionals in a certain field often neglect to apply their own expertise to their personal projects. In other words, as a brand designer maybe I was so focused on creating amazing brands for my clients that I neglected my own their own brand identity. It's a reminder to not forget about yourself and your own brand, even when you're busy helping others with theirs.
So anyway I felt like it was perfect timing and I did it and I love the result and the feed back has been awesome.
The new visuals have a pop of colour, the fonts stylish I love it. Oh here’s a little sign this was totally meant to be - originally I was planning to wear black and white at the shoot. And last minute I threw in a hot pink jumper. i was like, Ohhh it’s not really with the look I’m going for but I’ll throw it in just incase. It ended up being the best images and really the basis of my new colour palette. Another lesson why I’m always following that intuition and my gut!
Here’s some things that this rebrand has given me:
A major confidence boost! When you feel confident in your brand, it shows. And that confidence can lead to more clients and bigger opportunities. Who doesn't want that?
It’s given me a renewed enthusiasm for my business and branding in general - in fact I’m actually making some changes to the service I provide based on this rebrand.
I’m more aligned to my Human Design. Aligning your brand with your Human Design is pure magic. A revamp of my branding has helped me reflect who I am. Obviously there is a lot to a brand, not just the logo and photos - I had really worked on the foundation stuff (that forms part of your brand) prior but the visual stuff now also aligns with that. When your brand is aligned with your energy, everything flows. Trust me, it's worth it!
It’s only been a couple of days since I launched my new brand but the hype around launching has put me in front of a wider audience and the enquiries have increased.
So, don't be afraid to shake things up! As a brand designer, I know better than anyone the power of a great visual identity. But also as a Human Design mentor, I know the power of aligning your brand with your energetics. And a total aligned brand refresh could be just what you need to take your business to the next level.
Now, I know some of you may be hesitant to rebrand. Maybe you're worried about losing your brand identity or customers. But let me tell you, a rebrand can give your business new life! It can renew your enthusiasm and give you a fresh perspective on your business. Plus, it can attract a whole new audience that may have overlooked you before.
My rebrand has been a huge success so far, and I'm just getting started. Don't be afraid to take that leap and rebrand your own business and I highly encourage you to inject some of your Human Design into it. The benefits are endless, and you deserve to feel confident and excited about your brand!
